About a month ago, Ian reached out to me in a panic after his friend who was supposed to photograph his proposal to longtime girlfriend, Katie, had backed out. After hearing his plan, I jumped at the opportunity to capture this special moment for them! Ian and Katie have known each other since high school back in rural Central Illinois and have been dating since college in 2016. In 2021 they moved to Nashville and Ian decided it was time to put a ring on Katie's finger!
After a week full of rain, a severe weather alert and a few tornado warnings, the clouds parted and the sun appeared just in time for their big moment! I convinced Chris to join me as a second shooter and we jumped in the car, headed up to Nashville and (somewhat) patiently waited for Katie and Ian to arrive at the pedestrian bridge downtown. I'm not sure who was more nervous, me or Ian! Trying to blend in among the crowd we watched as they made their way towards the spot Ian and I had picked out. With the Nashville skyline behind them, Ian dropped to one knee and asked Katie to marry him.
Tears were flowing all around, and cheers from everyone on the bridge filled the air as Katie nodded with a big YES! It was such a special moment and I was so honored to be a part of it! Getting to capture this moment for them is something I'll never forget!
